The Alluring coin

So I started watching Kismat.. now that Binis is on it too.. and there is no telling if and when Munira will get to it.. Kools will wait for you to come around after sorting things out.. After all of 2 epis of this show and all season of R.com I can safely conclude that the technical prowess of YRF shows is up there.. totally.. whether its the cinematography, set designing or screenplay.. attention to detail is always been an intrinsic part.. Kismat is no exception till now..

But this post is not about that.. its dedicated to a coin.. THE coin.. something about coins always allures me.. whether it was the one in Sholay.. to the one our dark lord IMV held close to his heart.. the very coin that introduces him and the one he held close.. divulging its importance when he baa left him. Its always given by the mother-holding maternal sentiments to the hero or in most cases anti-hero.. from the 70s movies to recent shows.. the coin bearer symbolises passion.. fire in the belly.. an intriguing enigma in the eyes..

If young Ishwar held the coin by the sunset in marine drive.. walking bare-feet transforming to IMV..whose victory was denoted in that one flick of the coin to close his fist on.. then little Kabir with equally intense eyes (I am really attracted to that kid's eyes.. wonder where they got him from) holds onto the coin his foster mother handed him for emergency before making him flee the confines of his village into the big bad world.. all on his own.. in post-independent India still recovering from the aftermath of partition.. where people still have goodness albeit mixed with doubt and suspicion.. As Kabir looks at a coin given to him as alms outside the masjid.. you can see the quintessential Vijay (AB Sr) from Deewar.. whose "main pheke huye paise nahi leta" are stuff legends are made of..and so he lives the Vijay by giving it to the old hapless beggar who really does need it. but only after he looks at it.. with a strange sense of void.. not knowing where life would take him.. but having the passion to follow its diktat without inhibitions..

On the other side rich kid born to the legacy much like Vaibhav Virani, Aditya Merchant has till now been foreshadowed in the calm volcanic aura of little Kabir, much like the Ishwarya.. mouthing Sirf I.M.Virani ke andar kaa toofan kaam aya.. So while Kabir grows up with that inherent vengeance towards the world.. the wronged one.. Aditya has no such definition.. I am thinking they will work on defining Aditya later.. coz Kabir commands the journey from childhood.. especially how different experiences influence and shape his persona.. this is yet another dark character in the making.. and I am all for it..

Devki and hint of VAibhav Virani the objective man may resonate in Aditya Merchant going by his fair and responsible father.. and the stringent royal upbringing he is subjected to.. so its going to be intriguing to see this duel between Kane and Abel aka Aditya and Kabir.. In MB the journey started and ended with the coin.. ending up with Devki.. a symbolism of IMV giving her a part of him.. a karmic connection they inherited ever since Ishwarya and Chanda fell in love.. it'll be interesting to see where Kabir and Aditya's connection leads them.. coz they too were connected.. born on the same day in the same hr.. one destined to be the other's nemesis..

but for now the COIN allures..
